Lollapalooza 2014 Announces Lineup

Get ready windy city because Lollapalooza has announced the much anticipated lineup for its Chicago based and original festival. Started 23 years ago by the Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, the festival ran for 6 years annually until 1997 before taking a 6 year hiatus until being revived in 2003 where it is has grown into the multi-genre behemoth it is today. Like many other festival brands, Lollapalooza has expanded internationally, rooting itself in the fertile music market of South America in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

The biggest edition of the festival in Chicago will take place over three days from August 1st to the 3rd. It announced its lineup yesterday packed with big name headliners and some up and comers who will top the bill soon. Like the general music / festival trend across the US, the lineup is filled with more and more dance acts, much to the chagrin of older rock folks, but it will make younger fans happy. Big names like Eminem, Kings Of Leon, Lorde, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Nas, Flume, Chance The Rapper, Arctic Monkeys, The Avett Brothers, Outkast and many more headline the cast on their way to Chicago.

3-day and single day tickets sold out in a hot minute, but there are more expensive bundles still on sale. If you have tickets already, have fun because it is looking like another great year for the seminal Chicago music festival. See their website for more details.
