Sample Logic introduces CINEMORPHX, the revolutionary next generation of transforming cinematic design elements fit for any genre of sonic artistic production. From trailers to features, this groundbreaking virtual library provides the essential elements needed to craft any story point, no matter what the emotion. Check out their evocative trailer below!

Combining world class technology and samples, CINEMORPHX supplies a cost-effective solution for new and pro users to dive into the arena of cinematic sound design. Nested in Native Instruments’ Kontakt platform, CINEMORPHX uses their much-fabled Cinematic Guitars Infinity engine to provide users an effortlessly versatile and clear interface.

Critically acclaimed legacy content from Sample Logic’s A.I.R., ELEMENTS and SYNERGY virtual instruments have made their way into this bundle to provide a horde of possibilities.

By the numbers:

  • 30GB of content
  • OVER 6,000 never-before-heard sound presets
  • Dozens of fully-customizable effects presets
  • Sample Logic’s proprietary Morph Animator, Step Animator, 3D Mixer, and the only XY mixer for Kontakt
  • All new hot-swappable FX chain technology
  • Fully randomizable interface for instant inspiration

Having used Sample logic products before, such as their amazing recent Gamelan release, which I reviewed HERE, I knew that CINEMORPHX was sure to be a winner. The skin has changed, but the interface remains comparatively similar and they both can create ethereal textures and thunderous hits, but where CINEMORPHX shines is its focus on cinematic structure, rather than Eastern based methods of instrumentation as a home base.

The included samples and presets in CINEMORPHX are both phenomenal and overwhelming. There is a sound for every possible cinematic genre imaginable. From gigantic, hard hitting mechanical sounds fit for a film such as Transformers to light, airy pad-centric soundscapes fit for an enthralling indie adventure tale.

After browsing the Single and multi-Core libraries for hours, I was blown away by the sheer enormity of the included content. Multi-Core categories were broken down into: Atmospheres, Instrumentals, Loops, Percussives and One Note Combos, which included a jaw dropping amount of length-varied patches. Most of the time you can pick one, hold down a note and hear it evolve for minutes, truly a god send for cinematic scenes requiring layered building and breaking down emotion.

The ‘Single-Core’ browser section is broken down into the same categories as Multi, but expand to include sub-sections such as ‘Bizarre Atmospheres’, ‘Organic Instrumentals’ and ‘Electronic-Effectual Loops’. These highly specific categories make it easier to find the sound in your head, as well as find new ones to add to your sonic palette.

Included in the virtual instrument are 20 phenomenal modifiable effects such as Compressor, EQ, Saturator, Tape Saturation, Phaser, Delay and Reverb. These can be used alongside an FX XY zone that allows one to quickly morph and create new, never before heard sounds.

The effects sound great. Saturator really beefs up any sound thrown through it, adding that extra layer of stand-out grit needed to capture audience attention and the reverb section has fantastic impulses fit for any on screen environment that users might need to match. This is a separate from the convolution section which puts sounds through a variety of cheekily named sources such as ‘Smeared’, ‘Tin Man’ and ‘Vision Quest’.

Also included is a highly modifiable step-sequencer section. In it you will find a whopping 128-step control for damn near anything your heart desires. You can adjust the speed, pan, swing, as well as duration. This tool works especially well for electronic genres and makes creating sci-fi beat drones a cinch as well as glitched out synthetic sections to layer into any soundscape.

Not only do the patches shine in the high-end, but the low’s are also delicately balanced to give the oomph needed to really grab viewers attention through feel. This is something that can take producers a lifetime to figure out and what better than to have 6,000 presets at the ready to be loaded into a wide variety of content?!

With all-new sound design, presets, and effects functionality for a totally reinvented production experience Sample Logic’s CINEMORPHX is a winner. Fit for cinematic sound design, music production, and much more, CINEMORPHX is a true sampling heavyweight.
